During routine inspections in the northern district, Ministry of Agriculture inspectors apprehended a shipment of 400kg (881 LBS) of rancid meat that was being transported from an Israeli Arab community to the marketplace. The meat was being transported in a private vehicle, not a refrigerated truck.
The driver, a man in his 40s faces criminal charges, his vehicle was impounded and the meat was sent to be destroyed.
One can only wonder with regular reports of the apprehension of shipments of neveila which endangers body and soul, how much evades inspectors chas v’sholom and makes its way to retail stores and restaurants nationwide.

It would seem that if the meat purchased is frozen, one will avoided such problems. Anyone know if this is true?
