Amid rumors that some of the rabbonim of the Shas Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael will be stepping down, HaGaon HaRav Moshe Maya Shlita spoke with Kol Berama Radio to issue a clarification. The rav explained “I too have heard these rumors and that is why I traveled to Mori Rebi HaGaon HaRav Shimon Ba’adani today to speak with him.”
It was rumored the two rabbonim are planning to leave the council. Rav Maya stated that there is no truth to the rumor and both he and Rav Ba’adani feel at this critical time one does not consider leaving. They are remaining on the Council of Torah Sages of the Shas party.
Rav Maya added that he does not know who is behind the rumors, stating “I am not aware of any of the rabbonim thinking about leaving. Quite the contrary, we are all aware of the need for achdus at this time, not creating a split.”

Shas is a frum political party.
All frum political parties, by definition, have a rabbinical body to advise them.
What will change are the internal dynamics of that body.
