New York police have identified four other off-duty officers who may have ridden in a motorcycle rally that turned violent, but none were facing criminal charges.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Wednesday internal affairs was investigating. Authorities say the officers were not thought to have witnessed any violence during the Sept. 29 rally attended by hundreds.
One undercover officer was charged with gang assault. Prosecutors say he smashed the back window of an SUV. He says he’s not guilty. Seven others were arrested.
Amateur video posted online shows a group of bikers forcing the SUV to a halt on a Manhattan highway. The driver said he feared for his life and plowed through the crowd, running over a biker. Prosecutors say he was chased, pulled from his car and beaten.
