An election volunteer working for the Sruly Porush for mayor campaign in Elad was assaulted on Tuesday night the eve of 12 Cheshvan 5774 by workers for the Krisfel campaign. He was badly beaten and required hospitalization as a result.

The chassidish avreich was pulled from his vehicle on Pinchas ben-Yair Street and a number of people began punching and kicking him. Among the bruises sustained all over his body, he has a fractured hand.

Ichud Hatzalah EMTs treated him on the scene and he was transported by MDA to HaSharon Hospital. Porush campaign officials stated this was not the first attack and they are filing a police complaint.

Police hope to increase patrols until the 18 Cheshvan elections in the hope of avoiding additional violent confrontations ahead of the election.
