Minister of Housing (Bayit Yehudi) Uri Ariel during a visit to Kever Rochel on Wednesday, 5 Cheshvan 5774, announced he is working towards opening Kever Rochel on Shabbos as well as weekdays.
Ariel was accompanied by the area border police commander as well as rabbonim from the Kever Rochel Yeshiva, those engaged in limud Torah daily in the holy site. Jerusalem Police Chief Yossi Pariente was there too as officials are preparing for the upcoming yahrzeit, 11 Cheshvan.
Ariel praised security commanders, explaining that if not for their tireless efforts the yeshiva would not be able to continue daily limud, adding he hopes he will succeed in expanding the schedule to include Shabbos too.
