The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for a large portion of New York and New Jersey.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for a tornado.

The watch is in effect until 5 p.m.

The following counties are in the watch area:

New Jersey counties

BERGEN, ESSEX, HUDSON, HUNTERDON, MIDDLESEX, MONMOUTH, MORRIS, OCEAN, PASSAIC, SOMERSET, SUSSEX, WARREN

New York counties

BRONX, DELAWARE, DUTCHESS, KINGS, NEW YORK, ORANGE, PUTNAM, QUEENS, RICHMOND, ROCKLAND, SULLIVAN, ULSTER, WESTCHESTER

Pennsylvania counties

PIKE, WAYNE
