5 Soldiers Injured in Weekend Arab Violence


idfcA total of five IDF soldiers were injured in weekend (Friday/Shabbos) Arab violence including two soldiers lightly injured in a vehicular attack on Shabbos morning in Sabastia. A vehicle ran the entrance checkpoint injuring two border policemen. They were transported to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, with one suffering from a possible fractured leg. The soldiers fired at the wheels of the vehicle which was later found abandoned. The driver, reportedly an Arab, succeeded in fleeing the scene.

There were numerous firebomb and rock-throwing attacks against soldiers as well.

In violent confrontations that began on Friday afternoon and continued into Shabbos, one border policeman and one IDF soldier sustained light injuries along with 16 Arabs. Arabs were injured in a number of locations where they engaged in violence against security forces including Abroud (Ramallah district), Bituniya (Ramallah district) and a-Ram Junction (N. Jerusalem border).

Two other security troops were also lightly injured in rock-throwing violence earlier on erev Shabbos in the Anatot area.
