Children in the Shomron community of Psagot were escorted to school by Binyamin Council security officials on Sunday morning, 2 Cheshvan 5774. The security escort followed a shooting attack in that community on motzei Shabbos in which a 9-year-old girl was wounded.

Avigdor Shatz, the security officer for the regional council explains that the terrorist managed to infiltrate the community’s electronic fence. The community borders Ramallah and therefore has stringent security measures in place. Nevertheless, the terrorist got in and he was making his way around when he detected the girl. He opened fire in her direction.

The victim’s father, who heads the first response team in Psagot, heard the gunfire and headed out. He found his wounded daughter. He took her into their home while activating the first response team and notifying the IDF of the terrorist incident. Their neighbor, Jerusalem Magen David Adom Chief Shlomo Petrover, a paramedic, ran inside and began treating the girl as he called for a paramedic ambulance.

B”H as was reported earlier Noam bas Micha is now listed in light-to-moderate condition, a significant improvement from when she arrived in the Jerusalem trauma center. She sustained a gunshot wound to her upper torso.
