Rebitzen Tzviya Eliyahu, the wife of HaGaon HaRav Mordechai Eliyahu ZT”L ZY”A, met with Yerushalayim Mayor Nir Barkat, giving him a bracha ahead of the municipal elections. “We are voting for Nir Barkat because HaRav Mordechai Eliyahu said Nir is the best man for Yerushalayim. I wish him continued success and continued shlichus which Rav Eliyahu sent him on to preserve the unity of the city, its well-being, and its kedusha” she is quoted by Srugim as saying.

The rebitzen met with the mayor this week to wish him well ahead of the election, set for 18 Marcheshvan.

Barkat enjoys widespread support from the dati leumi community and polls show he has a good chance of emerging the winner in the city’s mayoral race.
