The Nishmasa D’oraissa Chabad affiliated yeshiva in the Givat Shaul area of Yerushalayim was targeted in a graffiti attack which included a swastika and anti-Chabad graffiti.
Some believe the recent increase in acts against Chabad in Yerushalayim are directly related to the upcoming elections in the city, as has been the case in the past. It is added the yeshiva is affiliated with Rav Yitzchak Ginsburgh, who is a controversial figure and this it is not the first time the yeshiva was targeted in a hate attack, but it is the first time swastikas were used.
The yeshiva’s sign was vandalized and the phone numbers were covered by black paint. Local residents expressed outrage over the attack, questioning just how low can people go, even those who are not fans of Chabad.
Chabad spokesman Menachem Brod released a statement; “just as the attacker does not understand the meaning of the swastika, he also does not understand the meaning of the Chabad chassidus, and this attests to his mental status and lack of daas, to which Chazal teach us בשופטני לא עסקינן.”
