Over 700,000 Jerusalem Light Rail Passengers Over Sukkos


jlrnJerusalem light rail officials report the system transported 700,000 passengers during chol hamoed Sukkos. Over 30,000 rider cards were sold at manned stations and many travelers took advantage of the sukkas set up along some of the train’s stops.

The record day for travel on Sunday, the third day chol hamoed, when there was Birkas Kohanim at the Kosel. 150,000 riders used the light rail that day. Officials report that 130,000 riders use the train on a regular day.

CityPass, the operator of the light rail service, reports it increased the frequency of trains to meet the increased ridership demands during chol hamoed.
