Doctors at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Yerushalayim report today, Wednesday, 21 Tishrei 5774, that Maran HaGaon HaRav Chaim Ovadia Yosef Shlita has received a new pacemaker. It is explained that the pacemaker inserted into the gadol hador earlier in the week was temporary and the medical team is hopeful the permanent unit will achieve improved results. In addition, the rav was scheduled to undergo dialysis today as his kidney function has not resumed.
Following the procedure earlier in the day doctors report the placement of the new pacemaker was successful.
The medical team reports the rav remains in serious/stable condition.

The tachlis is Olom Emes. Olom Ha-zeh is a pruzdor l’traklin. Maran has a gevaldige Olom Emes waiting for him. Here, he lives in a vegetative state, unable to be the manhig he was for many years.
