MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Uri Maklev turned to Israel Police and Ministry of Transportation officials’ ahead of Sukkos. Maklev reminded the agencies of the “illegal and unacceptable” conditions on public transportation in the capital during yomtov, calling upon them to take action to prevent a reoccurrence of this “illegal and embarrassing situation.”

Maklev pointed out the crowded conditions on buses to and from the Kosel on Yomtov are “inhumane” and they must not be permitted as in past years. The MK added the conditions that existed in past years also result in a serious safety and security hazard.

He calls for the placement of inspectors and police at critical stops to prevent the pushing and shoving and of course, stepped up bus availability to meet the demand during chol hamoed.
