The coronation of Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef took place on Monday, 12 Tishrei 5774 in the Yochanan Ben Zakai Shul in Jerusalem’s Old City in the presence of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita.
While a second ceremony was planned in the gadol hador’s home, http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/article.php?p=185549 Rav Ovadia was able to attend the main event despite his weak condition and Baruch Hashem he was on hand to take part in the emotional event.
Dozens of rabbonim were present and among the public officials addressing the ceremony was President Shimon Peres. Also present were Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and Deputy Minister of Religious Services Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan.
