Ichud Hatzalah officials explain that in response to requests from rabbonim in Bnei Brak, this year, arrangements were made ahead of Yom Kippur to provide local residents with a paramedic and ambulance staffed by non-Jewish volunteers. All the services provided by the organization were free of charge.
The operating guidelines for the team on Shabbos Yom Kippur, as well as the over 2,000 other volunteers nationwide were in line with the instructions of the organization’s rabbonim.
The paramedic ambulance in Bnei Brak responded to tens of cases in the city, including the tragedy of the young girl who drowned in a mikve that was not locked before Shabbos.
