After the United States and Russia have reached agreement to dismantle Syria’s chemical weaponry, it is clear the Russia stalled long enough to permit Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad to move the WMD outside of the country. Israeli media agencies reports that 90-95% of Assad’s 1,000 tons of chemical weapons have been moved elsewhere, stating the Syrian leader succeeded in moving his arsenal outside of Syria.

For US President Barak Obama the agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin may have been the formula he was looking for to permit him to climb off of the high ladder and save face but for Israel, it is clear that once again Jerusalem will have to address both Syria and Iran alone. Yes, America is likely to lend support but the battle will be fought by the IDF once again.

Rebel forces in Syria confirm the Israeli reports, citing with concern that the inspection forces will have arrived too late for the chemical weapons are no longer in Syria barring a symbolic quantity intended for discovery to legitimize the inspection process.

After failing to step forward to signal approval and support for an American led military attack against Assad, Britain and other nations anxiously announce they will support a move to strip Assad of his devastating arsenal, a symbolic move that will permit state leaders to sleep at night but will do little or nothing to remove the threats facing Israel and the region.
