Yom Kippur is a busy day for Israel’s emergency medical services. Magen David Adom reported its teams around the country responded to 2,566 calls for assistance of which 1,973 involved transportation to a hospital.
130 calls involved people passing out because of the fast. There were 16 CPR calls and 207 children were injured in bicycle accidents including one Haifa girl who was transported with a moderate-to-serious head injury. She was transported to the trauma unit of Rambam Medical Center.
19 people were injured lightly in vehicular accidents and 145 were for women in labor.
