An estimated 20,000 visitors arrived at the Ma’aras HaMachpelah in Hebron on Tuesday, 6 Tishrei 5774, some for slichos and others during the day to be mispallel at the holy site. Among the visitors was the Karliner Rebbe Shlita who was escorted by 2,500 chassidim. The rebbe and chassidim recited slichos in the Machpelah.

Taking part in the slichos were many other rabbonim, including Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, Deputy Minister of Religious Services Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Tzfas Chief Sephardi Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Chacham Yeshua Ben Shoshan of Yerushalayim, and Rabbi Ovadia Yosef of Beit Shemesh (a son of Rabbi Yaakov Yosef ZT”L).
