Registered Democrats living in Flatbush, Midwood, SheepsheadBay, Manhattan Beach and BrightonBeach will be able to select a new City Council representative in today’s 48th Council District Democratic race. Chaim Deutsch is the only candidate who will best represent the values and interest of our community, in the very crowded field of contenders.

Deutsch has proven himself a formidable candidate gaining the support and respect of many diverse communities in the district, while maintaining his base in the Orthodox Jewish Community where he has lived for two decades. His interaction and charitable work for the many ethnic communities in south Brooklyn, have made a true Kiddush Hashem.

The support his candidacy has been met with is impressive, both pundits and observers note. Deutch, founder of the Flatbush Shomrim, has a long career as a legislative aid to outgoing Councilman Mike Nelson and is known as a resilient fighter and relentless advocate for the citizens of the 48th council district. “Chaim is a person that we have trusted and relied upon 24 hours a day to get the hard job’s done said Leon Goldenberg, well known community activist. “People know who they can count on” Goldberg continued, “he truly understands the issues and will be an outstanding representative and advocate for us.”

Chaim Deutschs’ track record of helping Rabbonim, Yeshiva leaders and the community at large is well known. He took the lead during and after Hurricane Sandy, earning the praise of citizens’ city wide. A father and grandfather, who has children in local Yeshivas and Bais Yaakovs, and the son of a Holocaust survivor, Chaim is the only candidate from our community, and lives the issues we all do on a daily basis. As the only orthodox candidate, he brings both experience and concern for our communities’ issues and future.
