Speaking at an annual counter-terrorism seminar hosted by the IDC-Herzliya, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon addressed the threat of a possible US military offensive against Syria. Ya’alon spoke of the regional tensions resulting from this possible attack, a response to Syria’s use of chemical weaponry against its population.

Ya’alon stressed that while Israel is not involved, Jerusalem is well aware that any military action against Syria is likely to have a direct impact on Israel. However, he stated “the bottom line is that everyone should continue with life as usual, not to make any changes in one’s plans, as was detailed before Rosh Hashanah”.
