Anthony Weiner is most famously known for his fiery speeches on the House floor and his advocacy for liberal issues such as a single-payer health-care system. Notwithstanding his most recent scandals, Mr. Weiner still believes his embattled campaign is on course of victory, based on his ideas and record matched to the other candidates running for mayor in the Democratic primary.
One of the determining constituents in the upcoming primary are Jewish voters, especially Orthodox Jewish voters, who have an array of candidates to choose from based on their relationship with the community.
As a candidate who represented part of Brooklyn’s Jewish community in the City Council and as Congressman, Mr. Weiner firmly believes he can count on votes as an act of Hakores HaTov (gratitude and appreciation).
In an exclusive interview with YWN, Mr. Weiner reflected on his record as a champion for Jewish causes.
YWN: What’s your message meeting with Jewish voters, talking your ideas about the future or touting your record in helping the community as a council member and congressman?
AW: Well, I do both. This is a job interview. And with all job interviews, your employer wants to know what you’re going to do for their organization, basically, what your plans are for the city. But I also know that one of the things they are looking at is: Have you been there? What have you been doing over the years? I think my record, on issues that are important to the frum community, are second to none in this race.
“If people want to talk about what I have done and what I plan to do, in both cases, I think I’m head and shoulders above the other people who’re running.
I understand the frum community very well. I’m proud to have had the community’s support for many years and I think I’ve earned it.”
YWN: Senator Al D’Amato, on behalf of the Bill Thompson campaign, blasted Bill de Blasio for accepting the endorsement of George Soros. What’s your opinion?
AW: Isn’t Al D’Amato a Republican? You’re asking me about two people who’re getting endorsements. I don’t know who did better in that deal. But all I can say is that I’m not trying to line up famous people. I’m focusing on the citizens of our community and my record in helping the community rings well more than any endorsement.”
In a shouting match with a Jewish voter, during a campaign stop in Borough Park Erev Rosh Hashanah, Mr. Weiner told the guy: “I fought very hard for this community and delivered more that you will ever in your entire life.”
Strolling down the avenue, Mr. Weiner told YWN he’s certain voters will judge him by his record.
“People know what I have done. People understand how hard I worked for the community and how much I’ve delivered for the community,” he said. “At a certain point, I think it’s time that the community understands it.”
Asked to compare his level of support to the ones of Bill de Blasio and Bill Thompson, Mr. Weiner said he’s not willing to talk about others but himself. “I think I’m going to do very well in the Orthodox Jewish community. Tachlis, no one can hold a candle to my record. What have they done, compared to what I’ve done, for the community?” Mr. Weiner asked.
In the most recent Siena College poll, only 9 percent of Jewish voters expressed their intention of voting for Anthony Weiner for Mayor.

Whatever he may have them for the people he is still a lpwlife
Is he in the Twilight Zone? Or La La Land? Exactly how does he plan on winning with his single digit polling numbers?
So Mr. Weiner what exactly have you done for the frum community why don’t you give us a few examples instead of bragging nonsense, yes im judging you and so will every other orthodox jew!
And there you have it, folks, it’s now official. 9% of Jewish voters are complete, total imbeciles.
It just goes to show you what a low opinion he has of Orthodox Jews. He understands that they will vote for whomever will play the games with them and not those who uphold the office they gave an oath to uphold with integrity, dignity and honesty!
If the Orthodox Jewish community protect molesters then what HE did is nothing. They can easily look away from it. He feels safe and secure walking through our neighborhoods pandering for votes among his own kind!
Learn well what you are teaching as you cast your votes this year. Think clearly about the slimy politicians you keep voting in because you know they can be controlled. It is time for change and a new way of looking at things
This week is time for introspection! It is time to clean house on a personal level and on a level for all of K’lal Yisroel! It is time to vote for honesty, integrity and accountability. Where there is smoke there is fire! Those who believe they are above the Law and make their own rule do NOT belong in office. They become to powerful and they use their power against those that cast their votes for them!
It is time for change. It is time to clean house and start fresh! Out with the old and in with the new! Joe Hynes, Anthony Weiner and Elliot Spitzer had their moments of glory. It’s time to give others a chance to prove themselves.

Weiners record in Congress isn’t very impressive. He was best known for press releases and endorsing causes to curry support from voters, not for legislation.
A brilliant man, but with very serious character flaws.
Is this a person to represent any community?

Is this a person to represent any community?
and as a Jew, do we need some one who marries an Arab? who in their right mind, Jew or Gentile would want him as a leader and representative of its community?
so gentile who says why should I vote for him he is married to a Jew you would have no problem with that
Please save your personal moral issues. Have you guys seen what the other candidates offer in moral high ground?? Please.. We need to choose the best of the worst so to speak
Weiner has helped a lot in our community
But he has no shot.
Quinn is the next best.
weiner’s greatest accomplishment is making eliot spitzonyou look like a normal, caring family man by comparison.
