Uman-Bound Traveler Removed from Flight After Finding a Pistol in his Suitcase


umanA man in his 30s, one of the thousands scheduled to leave Ben-Gurion International Airport on Monday, 27 Elul 5773 for Uman is in custody. A pistol and bullets were found in his suitcase.

The weapon was discovered after the passenger was already on the plane waiting to takeoff. He was located and pulled from the flight. The man was questioned and then handed over to Israel Police for follow-up.

It appears the weapon was in his suitcase and he was unaware when he packed. Security officials urge travelers to inspect their luggage to prevent such incidents.

  2. The rule in the US (see TSA website) is that you may pack firearms and ammunition in checked baggage as long as the airline permits.

    did he think he will get away with it? “Me.. i will be the lucky one and not get caught”
    Hmmm don’t they all think that.
    perhaps it was because he felt he needed security in uman… then dont go!
