Speaking to Chadashot 24, former Jerusalem Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky explains that when news reports were released that he plans to run for another term in office as the mayor of the capital he was abroad, attending a conference in Switzerland.

The mayor continues by explaining he is not connected to those announcements in any way, “not directly or indirectly”. Lupoliansky states that when he served as mayor he viewed his job with a sense of mission and commitment and at the time there was a rotation agreement, and he adhered to it.
