Police say a NYPD officer safeguarding a van with a gun inside it in Brooklyn shot and injured a teen who was attempting to enter the vehicle.
Police say the officer was waiting for a search warrant in a marked car when three men started to enter the van’s driver’s side door at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
They say the officer identified himself and ordered the men to stop. That’s when police say the officer discharged his service weapon, striking a 17-year-old in the left buttock. Police are investigating the shooting.
They say the gun in the van was believed to have been used earlier in the night in an unrelated incident.
The 17-year-old is in stable condition at a local hospital.
Another 17-year-old male was arrested at the scene. A third unidentified suspect fled.

Hello Sharpie? Are you busy today? We have another situation for you. A white racist cop shoots an almost armed black youth as he attempts to enter a vehicle that has a gun ready to be used on the cop. The nerve of the cop to shoot him first. Don’t you know you can’t defend yourself until the perp shoots you first?
ummmm what was the officers reasoning for shooting the teen??? It seems like from the article he didn’t even pick up the gun so it wouldn’t have been in self-defense because the teen didn’t necessarily have the intention of shooting the officer!
Well this teen is 17 and he is under age to drive so what was the cop supposed to to do just sit there? The cop did his job and keeping the city safe
