Jordan will host a meeting for regional and international Military leaders, including Chairman of US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin E. Dempsey, army Chiefs of Staff of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Canada.
According to the report released by KUNA (Kuwait News Agency), a Jordanian military source said in press remarks on Sunday that this meeting is held upon an official invitation from the Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mashal Mohammad Al Zaben, and Chief of US Central Command General Lloyd Austin.
The meeting is an opportunity for participating countries to discuss matters related to the security of the region, and the consequences of recent event, especially the Syrian crisis, in addition to military cooperation among participating countries.
This meeting is part of a series of meetings aiming at sustaining coordination between the participating countries, and to evaluate current crisis in the region and its implications on security.
Israeli sources report that IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz will not be attending.
