An estimated 2,500 mispallalim were in Kever Yosef during the night, 15 Elul 5773, among them was a brother of the Nadvorna Rebbe Shlita, Rav Aaron  Dovid Rosenbaum Shlita. The local IDF commander announced the event would not take place but after Shomron Regional Council head Gershon Mesika intervened, the military agreed. As Rosh Hashanah nears there are a growing number of people wishing to visit the tziyun, placing considerable pressure on the military.

Other notables present in addition to the rebbe included Rabbi Mordechai Gross Shlita and Rabbi Eliezer Igra Shlita.

Mesika and his staff are truly moser nefesh to arrange for as many mispallalim to visit the tziyun as the IDF will permit, well aware of the kedusha of the location as well as to the need to maintain a Jewish presence at the holy site.
