Bnei Brak City Hall has approved a recommendation from Mayor Rav Avraham Rubinstein to allocate an infrastructure budget of 84,186,000 NIS for 5773 and 5774. These funds will be allocated to numerous areas including education, infrastructure, roads, sidewalks, transportation, sanitation, health, welfare, mikvaos and more.
The mayor met with representatives of city agencies, the finance committee and finally the city council setting the city’s priorities on the table and receiving approval for his plan. Funds are generated by building construction fees and other means, along with assistance from numerous national government ministries and the Mifal HaPayis state lottery.
The largest portion of the budget is allocated for education, 35,122,000 followed by infrastructure (22,910,000), mikvaos (10,000,000), sanitation (3,268,285), and upgrading the city’s information and computer system (2,163,551).
Many city services will be improved as a result of upgrading computer capabilities, permitting many services to then operate by computer from City Hall. City officials are confident that modernizing and expanding the city’s system will be to the benefit of all residents.
