Special Knesset Session Set to Discuss National Priority Map

knessetThe Knesset on 22 Elul 5773 will be holding a special session during summer recess to address the newly-announced national priority map. The session is compelled after 25 MKs signed a petition demanding it. The session will also address difficulties in appointing a new governor of the Bank of Israel.

The initiative for the special session originated with chareidi lawmakers who are angered over the removal of Betar Illit and Charish from the national priority map.

After both candidates for the Bank of Israel post, Prof. Yaakov Frenkel and Prof. Leonard Leiderman bowed out of the race, the appointment of a new governor becomes a priority matter and it is therefore being included in the special session.
