HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner Shlita, the Shevet Halevy is calling for increased tefilos this week on erev Rosh Chodesh Elul in light of the gezeiros facing bnei Torah in Eretz Yisrael. Rav Wosner called for a world day of tefilos.
The Gadol Hador released his message on erev Shabbos Parshas Re’eh 5773, calling for recitation of Yom Kippur Koton, Tehillim and tefilos on Monday, 29 Menachem Av, erev Rosh Chodesh Elul in light of the difficult situation facing bnei Torah in Eretz Yisrael today.
“We are ending 5773 as Klall Yisrael faces difficult government gezeiros aimed at our Holy Torah as well as the dangers from neighboring nations and the cries of tens of thousands of those people who are very ill and suffering terrible yisurim R”L.”
The daily HaMevaser reports that in light of the senior Gadol’s call, the Vishnitzer Rebbe of Monsey and the Rachmastrivka Rebbe USA will be taking part in the world tefilla event.
The Gadol Hador closes with words encouraging Klall Yisrael to increase tefilos to HKBH during these difficult days as we approach Rosh Hashanah.

It is very sad that our Rabbanim are not asking why is HASHEM making these gazeiros. Until we examine our mistakes and try to fix them will HASHEM take away the gezeiros
