Chabad shaliach to Russia Rabbi Ovadia Isakov is continuing to show improvement. Baruch Hashem he was moved out of an intensive care unit.

The rav was targeted in an anti-Semitic attack near his home, shot multiple times. He was stabilized in a local hospital and flown to Eretz Yisrael and he is recuperating in Beilinson Hospital.

On Tuesday, 23 Menachem Av 5773, the rav was moved to a regular unit as he continues to respond positively to treatment.

The charter flight manned with medical officials from Israel and ZAKA personnel was funded by philanthropist Lev Leviev who maintains close ties with Chabad, particularly in Russia.
