City councilmen from Degel Hatorah convened with party officials in the capital to prepare for the upcoming municipal election, scheduled for Cheshvan 5774. At that time the people will elect a mayor and city council and Degel feels they must increase the chareidi representation on the council. Party officials are aware of the significance of the upcoming elections and the need to oust the current administration that has cut budgets to shuls, mikvaos and other aspects of religious life.
Officials cited the critical shortage of buildings for shuls and other religious activities in neighborhoods around the capital.
Realizing the time factor, a committee has been formed to begin work; including checking with residents to make certain they have legally changed their address to Jerusalem to be eligible to vote in the election.
Party officials call on all students of eligible age to use the bein hazmanim period to get a teudat zehut identity card to vote in the election.

Elections are important throughout the world, in Israel they are essential so that parties/kehillos secure their needs for private and community concerns. Also employment opportunities are part of pie!!
