Thousands of Belzer Chassidim were at the tziyun of Rav Aaron of Belz ZT”L on his yahrzeit Sunday, 21 Menachem A 5773. As was reported by YWN, due to the large crowd the adjoining matzeivah collapsed. That matzeivah is for the kever of HaGaon HaRav Moshe Feinstein ZT”L.
According to a Ladaat report quoting members of Rav Moshe’s family, had they been aware that so many mispallalim would come to Rav Aaron’s kever annually, they would not have permitted Rav Moshe to be buried alongside.
Whatever the case when the rebbe heard of the incident, he immediately acted, donating the money towards repairing Rav Moshe’s matzeivah immediately. Acting upon the rebbe’s instructions, workers labored through the night and the repair of Rav Moshe’s matzeivah was completed by Monday morning, 22 Menachem Av 5773.

Wow! Yasher Koach to the Belzer Rebbe and to all the Belzer Chasidim! They are wonderful, thoughtful and upright Yidden. We should all emulate these Chasidim. They represent the best of Judaism.
They completed this amazingly fast too. I truly envy them. They must have a wonderful Kehilla.
Two years ago Summer I was in Eretz Yisroel and I was on Har Menuchas on the Belze Rebbe’s Yarzeit. The Belze chasidim were climbing onto the Kevorim/Metzeivos of ALL the Gedolai Yisroel in the surrounding area of the Belze Rebbe’s kever, just so they can see the present Rebbe! Despite my protest and pointing out to them that it is OSUR to step on anyone’s kever let alone Gedolai Yisroel they ignored me! None of the Belze chasidim or the Rebbe for that matter tried to stop them!
truth hurts?
Maybe the answer is to move the kever of Rav Aaron of Belz to another place where the Belzer chassidim can go without disturbing others. As to #1 ujm, certainly the Belzer Rebbe behaved with commendable speed and very properly. However no praise is due to the Belzer Chassidim; it was they who without a care in the world destroyed Rav Moshe Feinstein’s kever.
Maybe now he can try to teach his Chassidim derech eretz!
What is the big “Yasher Koach” to Belz?! That they fixed what they broke?!
Please explain!
My wife just came from Reb Moshe’s kever at 2:30pm New York time, and she was appalled at the way the kever was destroyed AND HAS NOT BEEN TOUCHED AS OF 2:30pm contrary to the story distributed.
Huh?
This story is NOT TRUE. As of this afternoon it still wasn’t fixed.
I don’t see why it matters so much whether the exact story is true or not, as long as it’s beautiful and inspirational. May this story and many like it continue to inspire Am Yisroel to more Torah and mitzvose.
Reb Ahrala was a great tzaddik all of Yerushalayim goes to his tzion not just chassidim. By the way the kablan said that the tzion of reb Moshe was not properly built and they are rebuilding the whole thing. They started last night and it will take a few days to rebuild it properly.
Klall Yisroel is wonderful.
just common decency nothing special really
“By the way the kablan said that the tzion of reb Moshe was not properly built”
Interesting. It did manage to stay up for close to thirty years though somehow. I don’t think it was glued together with Elmer’s glue.
