Following his success in the Chief Rabbinate elections on Wednesday, 17 Menachem Av 5773, Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi David Lau was greeted by hundreds of well-wishers who arrived at his Modi’in home.
In a statement to the press, Rav Lau stated that he intends and making good on his promise to serve as the rav of all Am Yisrael and not for any particular tzibur in particular. He added that he hopes to duplicate the success he realized as rav of Modi’in and as Chief Rabbi he will bring the light of Torah to many who are yet to realize what Yiddishkheit is all about.
