Kiryat Ono Chief Rabbi Dr. Ratzon Arussi surprised everyone by announcing he has decided to drop out of the race to become Israel’s next Rishon L’Tzion.

Rabbi Arussi instructs his supporters on the voting body of 150 to cast a vote for Rabbi Tzion Boaron instead of for him. The announcement came just 90 minutes before the election begins, at 15:00 on Wednesday, 17 Menachem Av 5773.
