Yartzeit of Ach Pri Tevuah of Liska to be Observed on Sunday


0.jpg.jpgThis Sunday, 14 AV,yidden throughout the world will observe the yartzeit of Rav Tzvi Hersh of Liska, referred to by his sefer “Ach Pri Tevuah” and revered as a “poel Yeshous”. In prewar Hungary, the yartzeit was the focal point for tens of thousands of chasidim who traveled to the village of Liska and even today, there are many who mark the yartzeit at his tzion.

Rav Tzvi Hersh of Liska was a talmid of the Yismach Moshe who spread the influence of Chasidus until his peteriah in 1874.
As every year, the central Yartzeit Tish that will take place on Sunday, 14 AV, b’ezras Hashem, will be led by his descendant, the current Liska Rebbe, Rav Tzvi Hersh Friedlander Shlita at the Liska Bais Midrash, located in Boro Park at 1449 50th St. Mincha will be at 7:30PM followed by a Seudah.

It should also be noted that the sefer Ach Pri Tevuah has gone to print and will be available for the upcoming Zman and is L’ulyei Nishmas, the legendary Harav Tzvi Kestenbaum Z”L, who was recently niftar. Reb Tzvi was a very well known leader in the Satmar community and a communal leader who was among the first to focus on restoring cemeteries in Europe. Thru his direct efforts and advocacy, Reb Tzvi literally saved the Bais Hachaim in Liska. His son, Harav Eliezer Kestenbaum Shlita has generously underwritten the costs of re-printing the sefer and continues in his father’s endeavors by spreading Torah in his capacity as Nasi of Kollel D’mesak Eliezer.
