The heat might not be the only thing making New Yorkers sweat this weekend, as gas prices have jumped to more than $4. AAA says the average price for a gallon of gas in the city is at about $4.04, which is up about 15 cents from a week ago.

The national average is up to $3.67, the highest weekend price since March 22.

That’s much higher than the national average of $3.44 a gallon from a year ago.

Prices are expected to keep rising in coming weeks, as the summer driving season heats up and oil prices surge because of unrest in Egypt and north Africa.
