On erev Shabbos Nachamu 5773 there was a break-in at the Tziyun of Rav Nachman in Uman, the tent area specifically. The security guard was attacked and the thieves made off with a safe which according to officials contained a large sum of money as efforts ahead of Rosh Hashanah are well underway.
In the struggle with the thieves the guard, a local non-Jew, was beaten badly and he was admitted to a local hospital with his condition described as “grave”.
The attack comes as hundreds of women from around the world will be spending Tu B’Av at the tziyun amid increased security.

STOP GOING TO UMAN! Something bad happens EVERY YEAR!
To clarify:
The break-in and theft had no connection to the Tzion or grave of the Rabbi. It occured in a private enterprise called tent city. This is an outdoor hotel made up of tents where patrons pay $200 per bed to sleep for the Holiday.
Unfortunately their security was made up of senior citizens. This was likely an inside job. This property has caused local animosity because the locals claim they stole a plot of land to build their tents.
