The City of Doral will be distributing sandbags to residents Thursday as more rain was in the forecast across South Florida.
The sand bags will be distributed between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at JC Bermudez Park at 3000 Northwest 87th Avenue. Proof of residency is required.
Meanwhile, an urban flood advisory was issued for Miami-Dade until 10 a.m. Heavy downpours were affecting downtown Miami, Hialeah and Coral Gables, among others.
A flash flood warning was also issued for Miami Beach until 12:30 p.m. Thursday, as saturated ground from previous rains will create flooding in poor drainage areas, according to the National Weather Service.
Doral was just one of several areas that experienced flooding Wednesday as heavy rain made its way into South Florida.
Several urban flood advisories were issued Wednesday, and there was standing water on many roads from Miami Beach to Oakland Park.
Showers were mostly offshore early Thursday but rain chances were expected to increase later Thursday afternoon.
The weather should improve Friday but worsen for Saturday.
