A ceremony will be held on Thursday, 11 Menachem Av 5773, in the Burgos Airport marking a year since the deadly terror attack which claimed the lives of five Israelis and one local national HY”D. A ceremony will take place in which Israel’s Magen David Adom donates a new ambulance to the local EMS.
The attack involved a bomb that exploded on the tour bus carrying Israelis. The blast occurred shortly following their arrival. Magen David Adom sent a team to that country, as did other agencies, to treat and investigate respectively.
MDA officials report that a working relationship was developed with Burgos emergency medical services as a result and since that tragic incident, MDA has assisted their agency considerably during the past year. MDA is proud to announce its ongoing efforts have undoubtedly led to saving lives in Bulgaria as a result.
At the memorial event there will be a joint recognition for both Bulgarian and Israeli EMS personnel. MDA Chief of Operations Eli Bin will be on hand to present Burgos officials with the new ambulance, with Bin praising his organization for taking the initiative and working with Burgos officials as Israel’s leading EMS provider.
