A young girl who gave her phone in for repair in a branch of the Pelephone Company was quite surprised to see her loaner phone had quite a few numbers listed. These were no ordinary telephone numbers but those of cabinet ministers, senior security establishment officials and others.

Among the numbers on the phone was a direct line to the Prime Minister’s Office, direct line to the directors of the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) and Mossad, and a number of senior Fatah officials including Jibril Rajoub. She received the loaner phone from the Pelephone branch on Yigal Alon Street in Tel Aviv.

Other numbers listed were former IDF Chief Ashkenazi, former Defense Minister Barak, and senior diplomatic corps officials in Washington, DC.

It appears the loaner phone was used by a senior spokesman of a government ministry. Pelephone officials commented “the matter is being probed”.
