For most it is not shocking but nonetheless disturbing as the PA (Palestinian Authority) has appointed Taysir Abu Sneina to oversee the Muslim areas of the Ma’aras HaMachpelah.

Abu Sneina is a terrorist who played a role in an attack at Beit Hadassah in May 1980. Six talmidim of Kiryat Arba’s Nir Yeshiva were murdered in that attack on their way home from Friday night tefilos in the Machpelah. In addition, 16 people were left injured in the attack.

MK (Likud) Yariv Levin is calling upon the government to suspend the arrangement with the PA regarding the Machpelah until such time the appointment of the terrorist is canceled.
