Republican mayoral hopeful Joe Lhota raised about $534,000 in the last two months, bringing his total haul to about $1.8 million since he jumped into the race in January, the Daily News reports.
Lhota’s campaign has now more than reached its goal of qualifying for public matching funds, Lhota ‘s spokeswoman Jessica Proud told Celeste Katz.
“We’re incredibly pleased with our efforts this cycle. Our top priority was to qualify for the match program and we exceeded our goals with donations from more than 1,700 contributors,” Proud said.
“This has a been a great week for the campaign, with Joe’s resounding debate victory, filing our petitions and qualifying for the matching program,” Proud said. “We are excited to build on this momentum throughout the summer.”
