Hynes Secures Himself Spot on Nov. Ballot Filing Petitions For GOP/CO Lines

Charles Hynes, running for reelection as Brooklyn’s District Attorney, has managed to secure himself a definite win in November, regardless of the Democratic Party primary outcome I September, City and State NY’s Nick Powell reports.

A source close to the Brooklyn DA race revealed that Hynes petitioned for both the Republican and Conservative ballot lines. Hynes was endorsed by the Conservative Party in March.

Despite the daily negative headlines, Mr. Hynes seems to benefit from a 3-man race and the notion that he’s a formidable candidate.

A spokesman for the Hynes campaign confirmed that he would be pursuing additional party lines. “He has taken both [the Republican and Conservative Party] lines since 2001,” the spokesman said.

A source close to the Thompson campaign characterized Hynes’ petitioning for other ballot lines as a “cynical insurance policy”.

“DA Hynes must be running scared since he’s seeking the Republican and Conservative lines in a desperate attempt to get onto the ballot once he loses to Ken Thompson,” the source said.

  1. If you are an authoritarian “big government” conservative (as opposed to the libertarian pro-civil liberties “remember the Bill of Rights” type), Hynes would be a good candidate. There is a long tradition of basing prosecutions on political correctness, and he seems well steeped in traditions.

  2. “Despite the daily negative headlines…”

That’s the problem here. This corrupt bum has the Frum community, who he HATES, bowing down at his feet! Very shameful! Let’s see which Mosad will run to “Honor” him next! We have an unimformed, low information, blind bat voters! The “Republican” & “Conservative” Parties in Brooklyn, New York are so far to the left, its pathetic! Its a good thing that Salgado is not running as a “Republican”.
