Firefighters are on the scene of an explosion inside a building in Chinatown in lower Manhattan. The explosion was reported at about 12:42 p.m. on the first floor of 17 Pike Street near Henry Street, said fire officials.

There was a partial collapse reported.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the neighborhood.

Sources tell YWN NYC that there are 6 injuries. At least 3 of the victims have critical injures, and 2 have serious injuries.
