7-Eleven is marking its 86th birthday with its annual free Slurpee day today.
It has become a tradition on July 11, or 7/11, participating 7-Eleven stores across the U.S. and Canada will give away 12-ounce Slurpees from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
7-Eleven says it’s the world’s first convenience store and was born in the summer of 1927 in suburban Dallas. It now operates more than 50,000 stores in 16 countries.

Maybe in previous years it was different, but aren’t the cups 7.11 ounces?
Yes it was 7.11 oz last year. This year they changed it to 12. My kids were thrilled.
