More extensive filings from New York state legislators than ever before have been publicly posted online and show powerful Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver earned $350,000 to $450,000 last year from his private law practice.
Silver, the longtime leader of the Assembly’s Democratic majority, is listed as “of counsel” to the Weitz & Luxenberg law firm in Manhattan.
The disclosures filed by all 63 sitting state Senators and 148 members of the Assembly for the first time show publicly the value of their outside financial interests.
Forms filed by other state officials in policy positions are available by request from the Joint Commission on Public Ethics under a law passed two years ago.
The governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and comptroller’s disclosures were posted previously.

So what?
Just because a fact can be disclosed, why does it have to be?
We yidden ascribe to a greater set of rules than society at large and i truly believe that these bits of information which are usually kept private should remain so as far as possible.
Ok, so now we know how he lives. What about all the other politicians that list no other source of revenue but wear $3,000 suits, drive luxury vehicles, have country club memberships, wear new rolexes every year? Does that not bother you? Living beyond ones means is a classic sign of fraud.
