Anyone can do kiruv, but the proper training can turn an amateur into a professional. Oorah, a leading kiruv organization, is hoping to produce a fresh generation of kiruv professionals with its new kiruv training certification program for young women.
Under the direction of Oorah spiritual leaders including HaRav Chaim Mintz, shlita, and Rabbi Avi Davidowitz, mara d’asra of Oorah’s TheZone Girls Division, the certification program will be a valuable resource for young women looking to enter the fields of chinuch and kiruv. Currently, the program is only open to TheZone Girls Division staff members.
The Oorah Kiruv Training Course prepares its participants to be successful in the field of Jewish outreach. Through a combination of lectures, supervised field experiences and in-service training, the participants will gain the practical knowledge and skills necessary to reach out to and inspire less-affiliated Jews, with an emphasis on working with children and teenagers. The young women will receive training in how to run a successful kiruv program, proper responses to commonly asked kiruv questions and the appropriate halachic parameters in the kiruv field, among other essentials.
The course can be completed and Oorah certification granted in one year. This groundbreaking program will provide vital on the ground training for future mechanchos and leaders in kiruv.
