Jerusalem District Court Justice Moshe HaKohen on Tuesday, 17 Tammuz 5773 convicted eastern Jerusalem resident Assam Mashara in a plea bargain agreement accepted by the court. He was charged with being in contact with an enemy agent and conspiring to give information to the enemy.

The defendant traveled to an enemy nation where he was in contact with Hizbullah. He agreed to transfer information to the terrorist organization, information that would harm Israel.

According to the indictment, in 2012 Assam traveled with his wife to Jordan and from there, he took a flight to Beirut Lebanon to meet with his contacts.
