Final preparations are under way for the public launch of the new United Hatzalah regional headquarters in Bnei Brak and the country-wide convention of United Hatzalah rabbanim, poskim and dayanim who provide the halachic guidance and framework for the organization. Last night the organizers of the event received an unexpected surprise visit from Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlit”a and Rav Nissim Karelitz Shlit”a. The 2 gedolim who were unable to participate in this evening’s event nonetheless wished to show their personal support for United Hatzalah’s lifesaving efforts. Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlit”a gave brachos to United Hatzalah founder and president Eli Beer and Chairman Zeev Kashash. He also gave his special bracha of “refua v’yeshua” to all the supporters and donors who allow their shlichim, the volunteers of United Hatzalah to go about their avodas hakodesh saving lives throughout the country and expressed his wish that klal yisroel only have a need for United Hatzalah on happy occasions. Rav Nissim Karelitz Shlit”a also expressed his appreciation lifesaving work and Kiddush Hashem of the volunteers and gave them a bracha that all their efforts be crowned with success. The gedolim then each affixed a mezuzah on doors of the center.
The new United Hatzalah Bnei Brak regional headquarters will have a dispatch center that will operate around the clock around the year. It will be staffed by non-Jews on Shabbos and Yom Tov with a Jewish shift supervisor always on site. The logistics center will contain all the supplies needed for the ever active United Hatzalah volunteers in Bnei Brak so they will never have to wait to resupply their vital equipment bags and oxygen tanks. There will be classrooms with complete audio-visual presentation equipment, training mannequins as well as a library of medical and halachic sefarim. Volunteers and the people they serve in Bnei Brak as well as in the rest of the country can be assured that United Hatzalah will continue to do all it can to provide the highest level of emergency medical care in the framework of Torah and Halachah.
