Sudanese National Goes on Stabbing Spree in Tel Aviv [UPDATED 12:04 IL]

A man in police custody described as a Sudanese national began stabbing passersby in the N’vei Sha’anan area of southern Tel Aviv a short time ago. The attack occurred close to 11am, Sunday, 15 Tammuz 5773.

The motive for the man’s actions is unknown as this time. At least four people have been injured, one reported to be in serious condition. The victims were treated on the scene and en route to area hospitals, Ichud Hatzalah reports.

Additional information will be provided as confirmed details become available.

MDA reports there are five victims, one moderate and the remainder in light condition. Paramedics and EMTs treated the victims, all of whom were transported in MDA ambulances to local hospital.

 12:04 IL: Three of the victims are Israeli and the others foreigners. It appears the violence began as a dispute among some of the foreign nationals.
